Much to my surprise, the bumblebee made it. Two of the photos (while not perfect…still much to improve) came out and this one was ended up being my favorite.

Three lessons there. One, always shoot in RAW (Yes…you told me so, Dad). There would have been no salvaging this if all I’d had to work with was a JPEG file. The second is to be very careful about erasing photos prematurely. That little LCD can sometimes surprise you…the seemingly perfect shot could end up being unusable and blurry, but sometimes things fall the other way and you have a delightful surprise like this one. And the final…most important lesson…be extremely careful about your settings from a previous shot getting in the way of the moment at hand.
